Ketogenic Diet
A basic ketogenic diet consists of lean meats, high healthy fats, and low carbohydrates, typically around 50 grams per day or less, that come from vegetables and fruits. With a low intake of carbohydrates, the body stays primarily in ketosis, which breaks down fat for fuel, helps regulate blood sugar levels and fights inflammation. Ketosis in itself produces anti-inflammatory benefits, which is important for a person who is proactive about preventative practices. Being in ketosis has been shown to prolong life.12
